Jim Hollingsworth Announces Run For
Idaho State House of Representatives
District Four, Seat B

Jim Hollingsworth announced his candidacy for the Idaho State House of Representatives District Four Seat B at the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee monthly meeting Tuesday night. Hollingsworth is a life-long Republican who believes that all levels of government can be more responsive to the needs of our citizens.

There is a small group of Republicans in the Idaho Legislature who have consistently worked for responsible government at the state level. Hollingsworth said that he would like to join that group. He has spent quality time in Boise before the Legislature and legislative committees and noted that sometimes the process goes off base. It is time for change, he said, but that change must be change that is responsive to the needs of the citizens.

Our society in many ways is becoming more negative: broken homes, school shootings, drugs and alcohol abuse, over regulation of businesses, crowded jails and many other issues are reaching serious proportions today. While solving and re-directing these issues will not be easy it is obvious that many present solutions are not being very effective. Hollingsworth said he wants to be part of the solution.

Hollingsworth says that he supports the Idaho Republican Platform, and that he will work to achieve smaller government, lower taxes, choice in education and other programs that aid families. Hollingsworth noted that supporting family values is the key to a successful society.

Jim Hollingsworth is a building contractor in Kootenai County, and has done construction on the local level for fifteen years. He has also worked in the mining industry having spent almost ten years at the Bunker Hill Mine. Hollingsworth commented that mining is one of the most basic and important industries to our nation and we need to do whatever we can to make the process safer, and more successful.

Jim has also spent many years as a classroom teacher and administrator and knows from experience what it takes to learn. It is the teacher in the classroom, the teacher who loves to see children learn, that is the key to learning. Often the process of education becomes so complex that the teacher and the child are forgotten. Hollingsworth wants to work with teachers, school administrators, and legislators to see that trend reversed.

Jim and Mary Ann Hollingsworth are residents of Coeur d’Alene. They have successfully raised seven children and have eleven grandchildren scattered all over the globe. If you wish further information you may contact the campaign at: jimhollingsworth@verizon.net
